Wanda A. Allen serves as Executive Director of the Clarksville Housing Authority, where she is committed to expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and ensuring families have access to safe, affordable housing.
A veteran, social worker, nonprofit leader, and longtime public servant, Wanda has devoted her life and career to serving others. Her passion for housing and community development is rooted in a simple belief: stable housing can change lives.
Throughout her career, Wanda has worked alongside families facing hardship, advocated for vulnerable populations, and led efforts focused on helping people move from crisis to stability. Her experience spans affordable housing, social services, community advocacy, and public leadership, all grounded in compassion, accountability, and service.
Before joining the Housing Authority, Wanda served in leadership roles with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, local government, and nonprofit organizations. She also proudly served nine years in the U.S. Army, where her commitment to service and leadership first took shape.
As a longtime Clarksville leader and former City Council member, Wanda has remained deeply connected to the community she now serves in this role. She believes the Housing Authority can be more than a housing provider, it can be a catalyst for opportunity, neighborhood revitalization, and lasting change.
As Executive Director, Wanda is focused on preserving and improving affordable housing, advancing redevelopment, strengthening resident services, and building partnerships that help families and communities thrive.
Wanda holds a Master of Social Work and a Master of Business Administration and brings both heart and vision to her leadership.
