Unlocking Opportunities: The Resident Service Program and Its Mission

Welcome to the Resident Service Program, a vital initiative connecting public housing residents with essential supportive services and activities. Our mission is to empower residents in Clarksville Housing Authority communities, fostering progress toward economic independence and housing self-sufficiency.

Our dedicated program offers seamless coordination and expert referrals to valuable career development opportunities, as well as a range of supportive services. By bridging the gap between residents and these resources, we strive to enhance lives and pave the way for a brighter, more self-reliant future within our community.

What Are The Overall Goals of The Resident Service Program?

The Resident Service Program is tailored to meet the unique needs of different demographic groups:

For Families, our program is designed to empower participants to:

Make meaningful progress towards economic independence and housing self-sufficiency.

Reduce or eliminate reliance on welfare assistance.

Increase earned income.

Offer engaging youth enrichment activities.

For Elderly (Age 62+) Participants and Persons with Disabilities, the Resident Service program aims to:

Enhance the quality of life by connecting residents to vital services and activities.

Enable participants to age or remain in place comfortably.

Help avoid more costly forms of care, such as nursing homes or other institutional facilities.

Our dedicated Resident Service Coordinators conduct needs assessments, provide case management, and offer referrals to both community- and web-based services. We work collaboratively with each participant, aligning our support with their unique needs, personal priorities, and interests, to ensure progress towards the above goals in a way that best suits them.

What is Economic Independence and Housing Self-Sufficiency?

A family achieves economic independence and housing self-sufficiency when they earn enough to support themselves without relying on government assistance, such as welfare or a housing subsidy.

From Summit Heights Resident, J. Bush

“The Resident Service program has taught me the importance of understanding financial literacy. By working closely with the Resident Service team, I was able to create a strategy, gain long-term employment, and set achievable short- and long-term goals. Life is full of opportunities, too often we MISS our goals because we are staring at the problem and not producing solutions.”
